Google Mars is officially showing live updates from the surface of the angry planet. Google issued this mysterious statement today: “We are entering uncharted territory.” Users can access the images from the Themis camera onboard the Mars Odyssey spacecraft, as well as older images from up to a century ago. HP just dished out a quiet upgrade to its dv7t gaming laptop last month , and it now looks like it’s done the same with its slightly more modest Pavilion dv6t, which gets some sprucing up inside and out. That includes your choice of 512MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4530 or 1GB HD 4650 graphics, which have edged out the previous NVIDIA options, although the rest of the specs seem to have remained largely untouched, including the usual range of Core 2 Duo processors, up to 8GB of RAM, a max 500GB hard drive, and an unfortunately lackluster 1366 x 768 resolution on that 16-inch display. You can also now get the laptop in your choice of Espresso Black or Moonlight White color schemes, although there seems to be a $25 premium over the $679.99 base price for the latter option (pictured above)

We haven't seen too many Snow Leopard screenshots leak out, but it looks like a few more have finally surfaced, and they seem to show some interesting -- if minor -- interface enhancements. Most notably, Stacks now allows nested browsing, so if you click on a folder in the stack view, the old stack drops back and you can navigate the folder contents -- the old way just opened a Finder window. Other improvements include a Put Back menu item for accidentally-trashed items, a redesigned Keyboard Shortcuts prefpane that might encourage people to actually use it, and what looks like a welcome new installer option to only install printer drivers for printers that have been used with your machine.
Today we celebrate the unsung hero of the trade show, the creepy guy who stops at nothing to acquire the perfect shot of a girl who probably hates him. The creepy SLR guy always carries a camera—often two or more—and uses amatuer cosplayers and paid models alike as some part of a bizarre mating ritual involving using a zoom lens (his not so indiscreet phallus) from three feet away. So from now on, every time you browse some shady forum looking at a girl dressed up as a Final Fantasy character while showing a tad too much cleavage, know that this is how it really happened.
